Glossary · SEO and AI visibility

What is structured data?

Invisible markup that describes your page to engines: who you are, what you offer, your rating.

schema.org · markup · rich snippets

Structured data is standardized code (schema.org) added to your pages to describe their content to machines: local business, service, FAQ, reviews, article. Classic engines use it to enrich your results (stars, expanded FAQs), and AI answer engines use it to cite you with accurate facts.

A concrete example

Example

A page with FAQ markup can show its questions directly in Google; a marked-up business page gives AIs your name, area and rating with no risk of misreading.

Why it matters

It is one of the few levers that serves both visibilities at once: rich results attract more clicks on Google, and clean data raises your odds of being cited correctly by ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude. The implementation is technical but one-off.
